Senior Mechanical Engineer

Seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a leading national provider of federal defense drones, security drones, and public safety drones. The Mechanical Engineer will be working with an innovative team of experts specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of tether-powered aerial solutions.

The position is 100% onsite in Sanford, FL, and our client is looking to onboard as a Direct Hire as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and directly contribute to the design of complex structures for high-performance multi-rotor drone systems from initial concept through production
- Integration of ISR and radio transceiver equipment from various suppliers to drive compatibility with Hoverfly modular payload system
- Provide technical guidance for the mechanical engineering team (specifically vibration analysis and thermal design insights)
- Contribute to design process maturation (Trade Studies, Concept, PRD, CDR)
- Contribute to product roadmap (new features and/or new products)

Required Skills

- Must be US Citizen due to gov't requirement
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years industry experience
- Demonstrated experience analyzing and dampening vibration modes (FEA)
- Demonstrated experience implementing efficient thermal management solutions in highly space and weight constrained environments
- Substantial electronics packaging experience
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks
- Experience optimizing new and existing designs for quality and cost (DFM)
- Experience using ECAD / MCAD exchange formats (IDF / IDX)
